The steer loves the baby goats. They know it.
Unfortunately I don't have photos of the kids jumping all over him, which he seems to enjoy.
Here's a photo of one taking an afternoon rest with his big buddy.
He loves them so much that he licks all the Blu Kote off their disbudded heads!
If we pick one up or if we are feeding the little bottle kid, he's always there to check us out and make sure his little friends are okay.
What a fun expereince you are havin! Animals can be so funny! We had a dog that adopted the chicks years ago. He would put his head in the warming box with them and they decided he was a friend. When they got older they would stand outisde under him for shade. (He was a very big Harlequin Great Dane, so there was shade to be had.) One day something spooked Gertie, so she tapped on the front door and when it was opened she ran in the door, up the stairs, down the hall and into the bathroom for safety. When the hens would make a ruckus we would let the dogs out to go and see what the problem was. They enjoyed running off any critter that would come to bother the hens. The hens knew the danes and the people were their guardians. For simple minded farm animals, they made great pets.
ReplyDeleteAw, bless! This is such a sweet photo. I can imagine him jumping around too, kids are playful little ones! I work for a new social blogging site called glipho.com, and was just wondering if you would be interested in sharing your posts there with us? It wouldn't affect your blog in any way, and I know our community would love to read about your farm here. Let me know what you think!
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
